[ Digital Performance ]

Digital Performance is a sub-genre of Performance Art that has been thinking through these issues for decades, and offers a rich history to draw from in order to ask new questions that are relevant today and for many years to come. Looking to avant-garde art practices in digital performance allows us to see the future, as artists have the freedom and ingenuity to experiment with technologies outside of demands from markets and shareholders and profit motives, and many of their art practices are later co-opted into products by multinational corporations, and then have broad effects on social life.
